Our Pawsitive Mission!

THE PROBLEM:

Millions of dogs are abandoned in animal shelters and thought to be “unadoptable” due to unwanted or simply misunderstood behaviors. With rehabilitation, many dogs can be saved from certain death and find “forever homes”. However, shelters and rescue organizations don’t have funding for rehab and training – meaning dogs are euthanized unnecessarily or end up returned to shelters due to failed adoptions.

THE MISSION & VISION:

Our aim is to prevent as many unnecessary euthanasia of dogs within shelter systems that are already over capacity. Approaching the issue with a practical mindset, we opted against constructing an expensive new infrastructure. Instead, our established boarding facility, Two Paws Up, does double duty—its grounds, sleeping quarters, and staff are shared as needed. This approach significantly reduces upfront costs for the nonprofit.

SERVICES WE AIM TO OFFER INCLUDE:

  • Funding for onsite rehabilitation training of “unadoptable” shelter dogs delivered through trusted rescue organizations, alongside support for owners already navigating behavioral challenges with a rescue dog at home.
  • Medical financial aid for the general public—ranging from partial to full coverage based on individual financial circumstances—applied toward wellness exams, vaccinations, spay/neuter procedures, and emergency life-saving surgeries.
  • Monetary backing for fellow local rescue organizations whose ongoing efforts are essential to preventing additional unnecessary euthanasia of dogs.
  • Complimentary educational pamphlets and training programs tailored to shelters, rescue groups, foster families, and first-time owners.

They are very simple creatures… daily exercise, discipline, boundaries and love given at the appropriate times is crucial to their well-being and desire for balance.

Unfortunately, many humans don’t realize they cause or contribute to a dog’s imbalance. Dogs are dumped at the pound for being badly behaved, too noisy, too aggressive, too anxious, too time-consuming, and more. All these excuses can be remedied with rehabilitation and training.

Humans are the problem!

How we can help

What we do is a huge undertaking, and we are 100% committed and passionate about helping as many dogs and humans as we can. This is not a 9 to 5 job, but we are all okay with that. Our love for these amazing creatures far surpasses our selfish needs. We are very excited to be a part of positive change in every dog we have the pleasure of working with, AND the dedicated humans who love them.
